Dinner at Scarlet O'Hara's

After 9 hour of traveling with nothing to do but listen to a Harry Potter book on tape and play iPod games, the Wendts made it to their destination: Saint Augustine, the oldest town in America. Located here are the oldest house; the oldest school house; Castillo de San Marcos, the spanish fort; and a variety of small shops and resturants. After our nose ringed host took us to our rooms, we set off to find food. We ate at Scarlet O'Hara's which was very good. After that we visited the fort and some shops. Once it got dark we got some delicious ice cream from the Kilwins below our room. Day one of our Florida Adventure left us tired yet happy. i hope tomorrow is also as interesting.

Yes, the car ride was long but we made good time. We got here in 9 hours. We hit some very bad
thunderstorms in South Carolina after lunch. We had a cup of orange juice at the Florida Welcome Center. St Augustine is fascinating place. Our Inn is very cute and we are above a chocolate and ice cream shop - what could be better! There is an ice cream shop and chocolate shop on every corner.
